Healing Hands Physical Therapy opened it’s second location in Thomson, Georgia in 2003. Thomson is a rural area about 35 miles west of Augusta, Georgia, where the first clinic is located. Being one of the very few practices in this area, there maybe some uncertainty as to what physical therapy is, what it’s not and what it does. Many think it is massage therapy, some think acupuncture, and others believe it is the same thing as a chiropractor. Not that those ideas are way off, but physical therapy differs in a variety of ways.
Physical Therapy uses a combination of exercises, stretching and other tools such as heat and ice packs to help the body heal itself. There are no drugs and no side effects from it, which is a huge benefit, as many people cannot handle the effects from medicine. Medicine only covers up pain; it does not heal what is causing the pain, and physical therapy, though maybe not easy at first, will fix the cause of the pain and get you back to enjoying the things you love.
Physical therapy can give pain relief from a variety of different injuries and pains:
The list above is by no means a complete list of all the pains and injuries that would benefit from physical therapy. If you are seeking pain relief from any type of ache or pain, I believe physical therapy would be the best starting point for finding the relief you need. To help determine if physical therapy is the answer for you, the best thing to do is come in for a FREE consultation. Healing Hands does provide free consultations so you and the therapist can discuss your needs together and get you started on the path to a pain-free life. If you would like to schedule a free consultation with a therapist, please call us at 706-597-1190, and we will be glad to reserve you a spot. If you are just interested in seeing the facilities, we are located at 1043 Washington Rd., Thomson, GA 30824.
