Healing Hands Physical Therapy opened it’s second location in Thomson, Georgia in 2003. Thomson is a rural area about 35 miles west of Augusta, Georgia, where the first clinic is located. Being one of the very few practices in this area, there maybe some uncertainty as to what physical therapy is, what it’s not and what it does. Many think it is massage therapy, some think acupuncture, and others believe it is the same thing as a chiropractor. Not that those ideas are way off, but physical therapy differs in a variety of ways.
Physical Therapy uses a combination of exercises, stretching and other tools such as heat and ice packs to help the body heal itself. There are no drugs and no side effects from it, which is a huge benefit, as many people cannot handle the effects from medicine.
