The Augusta National Golf Club is the most exclusive golf courses in the world. Membership is limited to just 300 and on that list are some of the world’s most elite in business, including Warren Buffet and Bill Gates. The chances of playing on the course are slim to none.
The course is only open to guests for one week per year and that’s the week of The Masters. To get a ticket for that, you need to win a lottery draw to buy the ticket, or it’ll cost a fortune on the secondary market.
Needless to say, the Augusta Golf Club is a bucket list destination for any golfer. If the chance comes up to go to the Masters, jump on it. It really is a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
What to Pack for the Masters?
A polo and khakis are safe options for dress wear. On the course, spectators dress in golf attire. The weather tends to be fairly warm, but there’s always a possibility of rain. Some paths are paved, but for the most part, you’ll be walking on grass and mulch. It can get slippery when it rains so shoes should have a decent enough grip to prevent slips. Golf shoes can be worn provided they don’t have spikes. Asides from those, sunscreen and a sports cap would be wise to bring.
What Not to Bring to the Course…
Your cell phone! They aren’t allowed on the course, even on Practice Days. Photographing is permitted during Practice Play Days (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday), but not during the tournament. If you do bring a cell phone with you, it can be put into secure storage. Laptops, video cameras, and most electronic devices aren’t allowed.
Exquisite Hospitality Like You’ve Never Experienced
The Augusta Golf Club are best known for their hospitality. They treat guests with the same gold standards as players. Dignity and respect are the golden rules to keep in mind.
